Following the Golden Thread

Artist Residency at the Museum of Loss and Renewal

Upon arriving in Collemacchia, I was warmly welcomed by fellow artist-in-residence Marie Salinger from Australia. We soon made what would become the familiar walk down the mountain to Filignano and the village café. Over delicious Neapolitan pizza, we discovered that although our work appears quite different on the surface, a common thread runs through both of our practices—an attentiveness to place, a deep relationship with the land, and the rich inner landscape from which
our work emerges.

Recognizing this shared inquiry, Marie Salinger and I decided to document our residency together through video and photography at the Museum of Loss and Renewal, Collemacchia, Filignano, Molise, Italy.
