A Feast for the Senses
You will be inspired by the stunning landscape, luminous light, and vibrant people of the high desert! San Miguel de Allende offers a wonderfully diverse culture and a thriving arts scene, and I’m delighted to return to teach this workshop.
We’ll explore a rich array of materials—including some of my handmade papers crafted from the Maine landscape, as well as Japanese, Korean, and Mexican papers. Artists and photographers will have the opportunity to print their work and incorporate it into books or sculptural forms.
Paper Sculpture and Artist Books
This immersive, retreat-style workshop invites participants on a transformative creative journey—one that opens the heart-sense and awakens intuitive awareness. Through discussions and demonstrations, we’ll discover ways to let the inherent qualities, textures, and characteristics of each material guide the creative process and shape unique compositions.
Connect Concept, Stucture, and Materials
Using both ancient and contemporary techniques from around the world, I will guide you in exploring unique ways to discover your heart language and express your artwork in three-dimensional form.

Join me in Mexico!
Linda Laino and I have designed this workshop to be both accessible and enriching for artists of all skill levels. Linda will be our host and companion in San Miguel, welcoming us into the heart of this vibrant community. Together, we’ve created a supportive environment that encourages everyone to progress at their own pace while discovering new possibilities within the medium. Several excursions are planned to enhance the experience, offering moments of relaxation, inspiration, and immersion in the beauty of place.
